Thank you for your post.this week my husband and myself have been up before our church leadership for daring to allow a gay person serve in our breakfast bar for homeless, poor & needy people. we be accused of being soft on sin, when we mentioned grace they shrugged their shoulders and said it's nothing to do with grace. it's in the church consitutaion no gay person can me a member or serve in the church it's tearing our hearts as we want to love the person, not his life style this might even cause us to leave the church

Sir,

Grace, mercy and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus.

I came across your page "coincidentally" this morning. Thank you for the phrase "In fact, his wrath for sin is demonstrated best in the severity of his grace." Fifteen words that sum up the Gospel.

Thank you,
Matthew Ferszt

I would still appreciate an answer to this question. You seem to be more interested in the other line of reasoning above, posting multiple arguments while leaving this simple question unanswered.

"Knock someone down and then offer your product as a remedy"; it's a classic marketing technique, but it only works on the weak.

Yeah, I've gotten annoying Bible pushers to go away by pulling the "let's agree to respectfully disagree" line before, too. It's pretty sad that you think this validates your approach, though.

As for your dislike of the Catholic Church, that is not my concern. The point is that they've been growing, by doing the whole "when in Rome" thing. It's one of the few things Paul said which is actually smart.

You still misunderstand me. There is a WAY to present the gospel while being (and appearing) genuinely concerned for the lost person not by saying "in love" like a magic spell but by saying EVERYTHING about the gospel in a loving and truly concerned way. I've done this with a staunch atheist before, and while he was not converted, he did say he respects my views because he could tell I genuinely cared about him.

I'm not ignoring everything you're saying. I'm testing what you say according to Scripture, as I should as a Christian. I'm also seeing more and more that we are misunderstanding each other, and so I bid you good night and may God truly bless you, Mr. Wong. I sincerely mean that.

Mr. Wong, how has the Catholic Church been successful? Have they genuinely converted people to faith in Christ, or have they converted people to faith in sacraments? (I would argue for the latter in most cases based on Catholic doctrine.)

I am not dismissing everything you say because you're not a Bible beleiver. The things you say which I dismiss (I've not dismissed all of it, I have agreed with you once or twice) I dismiss because they go against the Bible directly.
