Actually if you take out the other words, 'be' makes absolute sense.

"I shouldn't even know she exists, or be quoting her song in a book published by the same people who publish the Bible."

To water it down more:

"I shouldn't even be quoting her song in a book published by the same people who publish the Bible."

Just sayin.

Thanks for reading it, but I would by no means draw a conclusion of "what the gospel has come to" based on my introduction. The book is actually a celebration of faith.

I was thinking the same thing, and then I remembered that many people that I spend the most time talking to about God, whom are very well versed, are actually non-believers.

But, of course, they've already seen plenty of tracts, and none have convinced them. So in the end, I still think it's pretty pointless.
