I cried out to God a lot this morning, asking Him for some help. In an act of obedience to Him, I am in the process of quitting my current job and going back to college. And I am TERRIFIED of failing. Thank you for helping me to re-focus why I'm here in the first place! I might "fail" in the eyes of the world, sure, that's a definite possibility. But who am I to be upset about that if that's all part of God's plan? A person can only do what they can do, and right now, all I can do is just be obedient to Him, and hold onto Him with all I've got while going through this storm of my life.

Yea.... I just read that Vanilla Ice statement... I did this in 7th grade. I wanted those Laser lines because I thought they would sweet! The problem was that all we had was a normal hair clipper, so when I took the oversized clippers to my eye brow, it took half of my eyebrow. I had my older sister draw in my eyebrow for about a week, until I decided that I probably looked more like a fool with makeup than we half of an eyebrow. In the end, I can't even recall one person noticing that I even missed half of an eyebrow, let alone laser lines...

Thank you SOOOOOO much for this post. I just graduated from college and have been wondering what to do with my life and whether I should just go for my dream career, yet all I see is me failing. I really needed to hear this and I thank you for this post. I've printed it, so I can remember this all the time!!

Thanks for this! Loved how you articulated how we can't fail when we are obedient. One of my co-workers often says "you don't have to see results for there to be results." I rest in this when looking in frustration at the sales numbers for my second book. I know that I was supposed to write it and at times I'm still not totally sure why. I'm learning to rejoice in the individual stories sent my way about its impact, rather than getting stuck in my disappointment that more haven't sold.

I recently heard Jerry Colangelo speak and he attributes his success in life, business, and the sports world to both the Lord and to never being afraid to fail. He came from the "wrong side of the tracks," and ended up working his way to the top...so if he fails, he knows he can go back to where he came from and do just fine. He was also very clear to give glory to God, but I loved his perspective on not being afraid to fail.
