I work at Chick-Fil-A in Longmont, Colorado that just opened November, 2009. I'm only 15 and they treat me just the same as the employee's that are 50. I work Dining room and love it. Chick-Fil-A has my vote!

Jon, last week I was driving back to Baltimore on I-85 (just north of Oxford, NC) when I spotted the perfect image for this post. (Unfortunately I didn't have my digital camera ready, but perhaps you have a reader who lives in that area...)

Anyway, there were two billboards placed so close to one another that you read them like a continuous thought. The first one was probably put up by a church or Christian ministry. It was a black background with red wording that asked: "Where will you spend eternity?"

The billboard right behind it was white with the red words "Chick-fil-A"

So I'm a new SCL reader who is catching up via the recent "best of" post....but for me it's CFA all the way for one reason alone (I think I had I&O once while in CA for business) - EVERY CFA has a play area. It doesn't matter where you are or when you get there - they always have one. That's essential when you're traveling with small children. McDonald's are hit-and-miss when it comes to playspaces, as are Burger Kings....but CFA saves our sanity every time.

Unless you're traveling on a Sunday or Thanksgiving (possibly Christmas as well, although I've not experienced this firsthand). Then CFA deserves to rot in hell. Firey, firey hell. Because as the kids are both screaming in the back and I've tossed all of our remaining "veggie chips" into the rear-facing car seat (and nearly broken off my arm trying to calm the raging beast), all I can think of is the magical wonderland of CFA and its assurance of a play area. Then we see the sign from on high, lit by angel wings, along the highway - our torture will end at the next exit! We tell the kids that they're not only going to get fries and chicken, but also a chance to play!!! We spot the blessed place on the horizon, but our stomachs begin to roil just a bit as we near - "something's wrong," we start to think. "It's too dark." Panic begins to set in - "WHY IS IT DARK?!!!"

Then understanding washes over us like the dreaded "rogue wave" in the Bering Sea - it's Sunday. They're closed. And our kids have been promised a play space that doesn't exist in the McDonald's that's open next door (unless it's Thanksgiving (or possibly Christmas), then all fast food needs to rot in hell and 7-Eleven saves the day - minus the play area....and a touchable bathroom).

But maybe I'm getting off-topic.

So CFA unless Jesus returns on a Sunday (or Thanksgiving (or possibly Christmas))...which really doesn't make much sense because why would Jesus return on the day He's supposed to rest? Except that the Sabbath is Friday sundown to Saturday sundown. So I'd say that CFA has slightly better than a 1 in 6 chance (six non-Sunday days, plus the time post-sundown on Saturday night that they're open - but maybe that's negated by Thanksgiving (and possibly Christmas)).

1-in-6 for CFA.

I suspect many of you are unable to make an informed decision since, unless you live on the West Coast, In-N-Out isn't an option for you. I, however, live in SoCal, and there is an I-n-O and a CFA right next door to each other within a 5 minute drive from my house, so I'll vote for you.

In-N-Out wins, hands down.

There, now it's decided. :)

Chick-Fil-A all the way, baby!

Their chickeny-goodness added to corporate integrity, is only topped off with the individual franchise-owners' awesome contributions to our community.

There TOTALLY will be Chick-Fil-A at the marriage banquet in heaven!
