isaiah: love the Numbers 12:3… that's awesome!I like what Mo says about not praying for patience. We are called to live by the spirit (Gal 5:22-23)fruit of the spirit and praying that we can be all God calls us to be would definitely involve praying for patience; however… I don't think that's what God is telling us. He is telling us that when times are hard we can have hope because God is working in us (dare I throw in Rom 8:28-29) oh forgive me all the cliche verses.

Speaking of the "who has two thumbs and is really humble" t-shirt… can we send one back in time to Moses? I mean, he supposedly wrote the Pentateuch, right? And Numbers is part of the Pentateuch, is it not? Check out Numbers 12:3. Talk about humble!

To me, humility is simply the recognition that I need to change, combined with my willingness to do so. Anything good I have to offer the world is a gift from God, so I pray for increased humility, faith, understanding, strength, etc. He who freely gave me His grace gives me all these other attributes of character, including humility.
