[...] Personally, I get annoyed by tracks in general, but money tracts a special class of annoying. You see a $10 or $20 bill on the ground and think to yourself, “hey, awesome, money” and go to pick it up. Then you realize it’s fake and has something about Jesus, getting saved, and how to do it. Excitement turns to disappointment turns to annoyance, and occasionally, anger. These things are not effective at all, and typically result in the tract being annoyed, thrown away, or shine a negative light on Christians in general. And the thing is, there are Christians who have the same opinion. [...]

REALITY CHECK! IF GOD DIDN'T WANT OUR HELP JESUS WOULDN'T HAVE TOLD US TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO ALL! God doesn't need your help, but he wants it! Do you part, anyway you can and PRAY ABOUT IT! Pray the person who picks it up has a receiving heart! That Money Tract is great because too often people get sooo excited about finding a DOLLAR they forget the excitment JESUS CHRIST GIVES! SERVE JESUS AND TAKE YOUR DOUBTFUL, IGNORANT, WORLDY HEADS OUT OF THE SAND!

WANT A GREAT TRACT?? Www.chick.com Also for all you anti-KJV people read the book "Look What's Missing" By David Daniels also from Chick.com

K bye. Don't forget to pray and read your Bibles (no matter what version, just read and pray for understanding, God will open your eyes)

I'm a missionary/street evangelist who last year started using million dollar tracts after a fellow evangelist gave me some. I can honestly say they are a great way to start conversations with people. Very few have complained to me about being "tricked." This is because when I offer someone a million dollar tract, I tell them upfront, "This is actually funny money but the back of it talks about something very serious." If the person has time to talk, I then ask questions about their eternal destiny.

For those of you who don't think tracts work, Isaiah 55:11 says that God’s word does not return to Him void. One day I stopped at a gas station in Woodbridge, Virginia. There I gave a tract to a young Russian woman working behind the counter. When I stopped by there the next day, this woman thanked me for the tract from which she had gotten saved!

Another street evangelist emailed me this true story involving a pastor and his eleven-year-old son. Every Sunday afternoon the two went into town handing out tracts to people. One particular cold and rainy Sunday, the boy had bundled up in his warmest clothes when his dad announced, “Son, I am not going out in this weather.”

The boy insisted on going out and so his father handed him the tracts. For the next two hours, the boy went door-to-door handing out tracts to everybody he met until he had just one left. He then went toward the next home he saw and rang the doorbell. Nobody answered. He rang it again and there was still no answer.
This eleven-year-old trooper turned to leave but something stopped him. Again, he rang the bell and knocked loudly on the door with his fist. Finally the door slowly opened. Standing in the doorway was a sad-looking elderly lady who softly asked, “What can I do for you, son?”

The little boy replied, “Ma’am, I’m sorry if I disturbed you. But I want to tell you that Jesus really does love you. I came to give you my last gospel tract, which will tell you all about Jesus and His great love.” He then handed her the tract and left.

The following Sunday morning at church, Pastor Dad began the service by asking if anyone had a testimony. An elderly lady in the back row slowly stood to her feet and said, “None of you in this church know me. I’ve never been here before. Before last Sunday I was not a Christian. My husband had passed on some time ago, leaving me totally alone in this world.

“Last Sunday, I took a rope and a chair and ascended into the attic of my home. I fastened the rope securely to a rafter in the roof, then stood on the chair and fastened the other end of the rope around my neck. So lonely and brokenhearted, I was about to leap off when suddenly the ringing of my doorbell downstairs startled me. I thought, I’ll wait a minute and whoever it is will go away. But the doorbell seemed to get louder and then the person ringing also started knocking loudly. I thought to myself, who on earth could this be? Nobody comes by to see me. I loosened the rope from my neck and went downstairs.

“When I opened the door, there was the most radiant little boy I had ever seen in my life. The words from his mouth caused my heart to leap to life as he said, ‘Ma’am, I came to tell you that Jesus really does love you.’ Then he gave me this tract that I now hold in my hand.

“As the little angel disappeared, I closed my door and slowly read every word of this gospel tract. I am now a happy child of the King. Since the address of your church was on the back of this tract, I have come here to personally say, ‘Thank you to God’s little angel who came just in the nick of time and spared my soul from eternity in hell.’”

As shouts of praise resounded off the very rafters of the building, Pastor Dad descended from the pulpit to the front pew, took his son in his arms and sobbed uncontrollably.

i know what your mean, years ago, the same similar thing went around in the 1980's. the two ends of a $20 bill had been printed and folded in half. From a distance you go and get excited figuring that you found $20. But upon opening it, it's a business card advertising that you can work for this company and get $200,000 or more per month. A scam.

Did it ever occur to you that the bibles given to the prisoners got thrown in the trash was because they have have thrown Jesus in the trash cans and not because they couldn't read the KING JAMES bible? Teach them, tell them what it says! Acts 8:30,31 "And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esais, and said, understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, how can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him." Guide them. Don't make excuses for them.

But the bible mentions hell more than heaven, Steve. We as Christians need to warn people of the consequences of rejecting Christ.

Someone did give me tracts that led me to Jesus. That was over 20 years ago and I'm still a believer.

I agree completely. I can see how it might have looked like I was saying our nation ought to be able to read the King James Bible (which would be kind of cool if we had so many well-educated people that the average American could pick up Beowulf and Canterbury Tales and just roll with it, but...). Anyhow, that's not what I meant. I meant that there's no reason to ever use the King James Bible, unless you:
a) want to study it for some reason
b) have invented a time machine, are a Christian, and intend to travel back to the 17th century to proselytize.
c) want to prop a door open, weigh something down, level something off, etc

Having trouble with the King James Bible does not mean people are illiterate. That archaic language has no more place in the modern world than latin does. The entire PURPOSE of language is communication, and a stubborn insistence upon 17th century English in the 21st century is totally counter-productive. One might as well start using Olde English words like "oncnawan" and wonder why nobody knows what it means.
