Thanks for sharing this humbling and awkward reality check with us... and What God is teaching your through it.

It is so hard when God gives you a big dream... and work patience in the process of getting you there.

We are on the believing God for a big dream and awed by what He is doing working it out in us.

I hear two things resounding in my head as I read your post...

"Do not despise small assignments."

"If you know God told you to, just do it. Even if no one else sees the point."

Hey Jon,

Just wanted to reinflate your balloon a little. I used your post last night in class with the young professionals and then followed it right up with a Nooma video called Tomato! You and Rob Bell...you guys are just like that (imagine crossed fingers here).

Used you as an example of someone who was able to let down their facade and tell the truth (hope the thing about the men's group was real or I'm in trouble!).

Keep on being an awesome Christian blogger dude. And I hope you can get Ludacris (whoever he is) to lay down some jams for you!

I can so relate. I could tell a lot of stories of God pricking those little balloons of pride as they started to inflate, but you have done a much better job.
