I would always smack my friends with those branches after church. When my sister got older we would have little fights too. My Church has caught on to this little problem and stopped handing out full branches... now we get little crosses made from palm frongs. I think it takes away the added joy for kids... and even myself. But we still have Jesus! :) I loved this post, brought back many memories from a few years back now. O_o I -have- had to get up at 5 in the morning for sunrise service though, which can make me very, very grumpy.
