the verses are on overhead here, so I’ve stopped bringing my Bible to the service. So if I do want a Bible (sometimes I’m not sure of the context of a verse used in the sermon) I go get one from the lost and found. At least they’re getting some use.

(Actually, one I grabbed for that purpose was a Thompson Chain-Reference, so I kept it. I also got a cover for my Bible that way.)

so... is it embrassing when your boss at church returns your bible to you and says, "uh, this was in the lost and found" and you respond, "i've been looking for it for months"

really? so, does that mean you weren't reading it for all that time?

no.... i have other bibles... its just, this was my favorite.

uh huh. right.

and i really love jennym's bible support group in the lost and found. funny funny.

Take them out of the lost & found, put them out on a table & give them away & maybe somebody will recognize theirs & take it home. Either way they are being used. Or take to a ministry that needs Bibles.

So my church isn’t the only one with 107 Bibles in the lost and found. Maybe people don’t want to do the walk of shame to pick up their lost Bible?

I think I need my eyes tested. When I first read the headline I though it said "Leaving Babies in the Lost & Found" which might have been a rather different article altogether…

Maybe we need a post on the dilemma of what to do with bibles you don’t want but are too worn to give away. Throwing them out doesn’t seem quite right.

My husband’s pocket Bible went through the Maytag and did not survive. So he bought a new one and after a few weeks noticed there was someones name written in the TO:___ spot in the front. How weird is that? He says he prays for her and really wonders why she obviously returned it to the store. So this is a found Bible from a perhaps lost soul….

I need to go pick up that teething ring sometime.

Or maybe there's a secret rehab place where rejected Bibles go for therapy?
"Hi, I'm Framanda's NIV and I have been lost for 3 months".
All other Lost Bibles :"Hi Framanda's NIV!".
"Umm, I just want you all to know I'm not REALLY *lost*, I just hopped in the bag of some high maintenance housewife who NEVER opens her Bible carrying case...she just carries it to look good and get invited to rich people's homes...I hate the name Framanda, so I came here to get it scrubbed off. I'd really just like directions to wherever I can get rid of this lame name?".
