I love “Jesus Is My Friend.” I did not love showing other people because I always got one of two reactions. If I showed it to non-Christian friends, they said, “Oh those silly Christians. Always doing silly things. I’m so glad I’m not a Christian because that’s what all Christians are like.” If I showed it to Christian friends and laughed about it, they would say, “That’s not funny. I think it’s wonderful that those people are expressing their relationship with our sweet Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

I distinctly remember struggling through these five stages when I discovered this same video last year! Thank you for validating my feelings! And yes, I quickly passed through the stages and proceeded to send the link to everyone I knew! The best part was that the back up singers really reminded me of the choir at my old church…

One of my co-workers showed me an unintentionally funny video at work a few weeks ago. (And I work for my church, so…) Three very white people (two women–one likely in her late 40s–and a man) all dressed in blue, singing and breakdancing and rapping. [erp] (That’s the sound of vomit in my throat.)

I went through the first couple of stages you mentioned, all before the guy’s “breakdance solo.” At that point I nearly vomitted. I just ran. Away from the dancing. Away from the pain.

My husband and I nearly wet our pants watching this video, but I wanted to say way to use even more words you learned in counseling and integrate them into this post (aka: the stages of grief); as a counselor myself, that was great!
