You also have to be decently good looking. Back in the day, when I played guitar or bass for the worship team at youth group, I couldn't get a girl to even glance at me (I am not terribly attractive - or I am terribly attractive, depending on your grammar) - even if I was just playing guitar by the cabins or what have you. But, let that cute guy pick up a guitar and play the three chords he knows to that Nirvana song, and the girls come streaming to him talking about how great it is that he can play guitar and how great he is on the guitar. All while I am standing there having just finished playing a real song on a guitar...FAIL. I’m calling just a smidge of BS on this post. You also have to be decently good looking. He used to be the guy carrying LP vinyl albums around. The right one showing, rotated 90o so it doesn't look too deliberate. But that was the '70s, and macrame and beads were okay too. At least the guitar guy learned an instrument and figured out how to attract girls' attention with it. The album dude of my era just got nods from the other guys. Oh, and the guitar guy playing worship songs outside on the steps: that was Justin Bieber. So much for that working out. Props to the guitar dude, I say.
