I am in my late 50's and my children grew up with Psalty. I have recently bought all the Psalty CD's and DVD's (my records are worn out after 20 plus years). I am now introducing my g'kids to Psalty. They just love him. The music and message is as relevant and rich today as it was in the 80's. Tks Ernie, Debbie and your very talented friends and family. This sort of praise music will never age.

Okay, this is so sad!!

This current generation just has no appreciation for good Christian music and good Christian artists such as Psalty! Reminds me of when my sister and I were substitute teaching the 3rd grade Sunday school class at church. We put on one of our favorite Psalty the Singing Song Book video and I was shocked by the little brats' reaction… they were screaming and throwing fits because they wanted to watch Sponge Bob Square Pants. And I kid you not, they were even passing around a petition to turn off Psalty! I was horrified when one of the kids shoved under my nose a peace of paper with over a dozen signatures written in crayon!!

True story.

This is why I enjoy Christian children's music–and I'm an adult! I shall never forget the symbolism in "The Wa-Wa Song":

Psalty, in a time when there was little worship music targeted toward adults in our house, your songs have always brought me to tears. I listen to them when I need a childlike, prayer-closet moment alone with the Lord.

I'd love to see a re-imagining of the Psalty story. Something like going back to the beginning like in Batman Begins. Or maybe it's New Psalty! Some guy finds this dead dusty song book and scans the pages into his computer, then becomes iPsalty, the singing iPad. Or maybe Pkindle (not sure what to do with the P, but it looks cool).

Hollywood could totally pull this off. Michael Bay would need to direct so there are enough explosions, but Ang Lee would need to be a consultant so there's depth of feeling. Kirk Cameron should be in it too so Christians will go see it.

This is officially the coolest blog ever because the REAL Psalty commented! I’m so glad he left his email address so I could tell him how much he’s meant to me and my family. I grew up with him and now my 2 yr old is obsessed with him.
