Thank you! We switched from my lovely old fashioned Episcopal church to a contemporary Free Methodist church. I love the songs, miss the "rituals", like how the pastor speaks somewhat like you do, despise when others insist on calling G-d (that's from my Jewish roots - not spelling His name out all the way)14 different names in one sentence. I told my daughter (who turned me on to this site, btw), "I'm gonna call you Andrea-Pookie-daughter-sister-Booboo-cousin-offspring-never spawn" when I refer to her in the future. At church. I can't help it though. Sometimes the very thing I need to say to God at times is something that has been succinctly stated by scripture writers already. It's just easy to quote them. My friend was - in what I assume was going on in his head - in a dire struggle to decide if he wanted to pray "Lord, just open up their hearts" or "Lord, just open up their eyes" and ended up deciding on "Lord, just open up their arse" The resulting laughter in the group while my friend struggled to finish his prayer got him a + 10 ( - 1 for the "just" of course) So whilst on a missions trip, we were doing group prayer for the upcoming service.
