So, so inappropriately late, but wonderful post. Made me laugh out loud (marriage, really?), and tear up. And them laugh out loud again (creepsters!). If you ever find this comment, thank you for writing it.

Oh, those freaky, faceless figurines. I hope no one ever buys me one...what if they made one of a person purchasing a Willow Tree figurine from the store that sells them? That would be like art imitating life imitating art, or something.

lol wow. a friend was just telling me how wonderful willow tree stuff is. and i politely nodded... but i think they're freakin AWFUL. it's like manufactured expressiveness and some attempt to be interesting by having no face. i can't stand them. glad to finally see i'm not the only one.

Creepy big time. A faceless humanoid form can't be anything but evil? Aliens, shadow people, mannequins? If you see a faceless entity, I say shoot first and ask questions later.

Here's something to increase the "creepiness" factor. Back when I was a kid (mid 60's), I saw a horror movie on TV in which Willow Trees somehow came to life, and went around killing people (pulled up roots and started walking). Scared the bejesus out of me. My neighbors across the street had a willow tree in their front yard and I wouldn't go into it for years. I had dreams it would get up and come over to our house in the night. A really good creepster of a film. They finally dispatched them somehow.<br/>I still don't like willow trees very much, and won't even have these things made from them in the house (just in case they come alive).
