You know what the Duggers should have done? Named their kids Fili, Kili, Dwalin, Balin, Oin, Gloin, Ori, Dori, Nori, Bifur, Bofur, Bombu, and Thorin. Except they would have run out of names eventually (that is one surefire way to tell if you have too many kids!).

i content myself by only being a dork about naming my cats. when i was growing up we went through arwen, strider, and Galadriel, and now we have Pippin and Brandybuck.

I want to name my daughter Eowyn from LOTR. I figure I could call her Gwen if people mock her, and then that could also go with my mom’s name (Gwendolyn) or Gwenovere. It’s a win-win-win sort of name.

I know someone who named their daughter Arwen. I also know several couples who ‘took turns’ naming their kids. My mom named me, my dad named my brother. That’s why my name is Gina (Yes!) and not Marlene (Thank you Jesus). Now that I look at it, both of those names are also in the family tree (my two grandmothers)

My name is, in fact, Arwyn. I was named after the books, not the movies (I’m in my 30′s…). Ironically, my parents were not Christians when they named me that. And, oddly enough, when I was 7 and went to camp for the first time I was put in a cabin with another girl named Arwen. We’re still friends.

my college art profession (in his atleast late 60′s) named his daughter arwen. she is in her 30′s now. of course he is obsessed with the books and movies

A friend of mine from high school did, in fact, name her son Atticus. It fits him very well.
