The thing about Step By Step is that the chorus (which you quoted) was written by Rich Mullins’s friend Beaker. The verses, which Rich wrote, were beautiful.

Yes you can, because we are saying that he is Awesome, in other words, he incurs awe at the sight of Him. And he is greater than any other “god” out there, because all those other “gods” aren’t real.

At the Messianic church where I am a member, they sing “There’s Something About That Name” using the Hebrew name for Jesus–Yeshua. That’s fine with me, but they also call the _song_ “Yeshua”. And don’t even get me started on how tired I am of the song itself…
