How could there possibly be this many comments without anyone asking this: Why DO Christians like Joel Osteen???? You said no to 2 things. . . but why DO ‘we’ like him? I don’t understand!!!

Umm why are you writing "What is His lifestyle like?'' and ''You weren't their when He was called to preach before God's people" ……. 'His' and 'He' should not be capitalized unless its the beginning of a sentence or unless your talking about our one, true Lord.

You got something wrong there, or he does if this is what he is teaching his followers.

Thats at least one thing I can say about him, only hearing about him for the first time tonight.

Its also our job to judge what he is teaching, as someone pointed out before, as christians. Its our duty to judge and make sure it lines up with what the Bible says, not just for Joel Osteen but for all those claiming to be teachers of the Bible.

Just finished writing this and noticed Verity3's comment on the same thing ……. oh well

Joel Osteen weirds me out. There is something wrong with people who are that happy all the time! I have no doubt that he's a good guy, but I do question his theology. I know that's not my place, but I'm just being honest.

So blessed is JO when/if he comes in the name of the Lord. (I repent of making fun of him for his plastic demeanor; maybe he really is just inwardly shy as another poster suggested.) But we are not following the Lord when we spurn sound doctrine and correction, and retreat into our like-minded circles because we think we don't need the entire body of Christ.
