Oh man…my sister and I did this at Ridgecrest in NC back in the mid-80′s. I’d play the piano and sing the harmony and she’d sing the main part. This WAS a major last-night-say-goodbye-everybody-cry song. Great stuff!

I know this post has been archived, but I just heard ‘Friends’ for the first time (I’m English with no Christian camp history). That is cheesier than a slab of Cheddar, wrapped in swiss, spread with brie and then dipped in cheese sauce. How do you live! I feel violated, and slightly cheesy.

My very first day in the “dorms” at the camp I was working at, I heard a very strange song coming from another room (I was the only newb in the dorm). Cue the eerie music as I peeked out my room, crossed the hall and entered the room with the weird music. There were about 7 girls all in a huddle and swaying back and forth to That Song. It was then I knew I had made a mistake, and I was NOT made for camp.

That is so much better than Kumbaya! That song has been offered up and/or sang at nearly ever campfire (or campfire-ish) gathering I’ve attended, which is why I hate that song! Love Michale W. Smith!
